Our doctors will take the time to comfortably numb you, while our assistants ensure your comfort with blankets, neck pillows, and bottled water, if desired. For our patients who desire a more restful experience, we offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation, and for those who want to sleep through the whole experience, we offer general anesthesia. Customized Treatment Planning

Based on the initial assessment, we develop a personalized treatment plan. This stage may include detailed imaging and discussions about the anticipated outcomes, procedural steps, and any preparatory work required.

Preparatory Procedures (if needed)

In some cases, preparatory procedures such as bone grafting or extractions are necessary to ensure a solid foundation for the implants. This stage sets the groundwork for a successful implant placement.

Implant Placement and Provisionalization

This pivotal stage involves the surgery to place your dental implants and to place either a fixed or removable provisional bridge. Your comfort will be ensured with our sedation options, including general anesthesia. Fixed (screw in) provisionals may be made the day of surgery or up to two weeks later depending on your circumstances.

Stage five

Healing and Implant Integration

After a week or two of initial healing, the waiting game begins. In this stage you will follow specific instructions from your doctor to protect your osseointegrating implants and your provisional. Expect to eat a softer diet until your permanent bridge is made. Your implants will be checked periodically to ensure a satisfactory outcome.

Implant Restoration

This stage may take up to four or more appointments depending the complexity of your individual needs. Records will be taken, and your restoration will be fabricated by a highly skilled lab technician. You will have time for input about the design and esthetics of your new bridge.

Stage seven

Implant Maintenance

This often overlooked stage includes the maintenance of your dental implants. Your implants will be cleaned, and monitored for peri-implantitis, the destruction of bone tissue around your implant. Skilled doctors can intervene quickly to arrest peri-implantitis, and to maximize the life of your investment.

Understanding the Cost of Sedation

The least expensive form of anesthesia is local anesthetic, which has no additional charge. Nitrous oxide has a nominal charge to cover the cost of the nose cone and the gas. Oral sedation typically adds an hour to your treatment, and the procedure may go a bit slower, so the bulk of the cost is used to cover lost time to monitoring you. General anesthesia is the most expensive, often several thousand dollars per procedure, but it is also safer than oral or IV sedation, and you will sleep through your entire procedure, so the value of having no memory of your procedure is high. We’ll help you decide which form of anesthesia is best for you.
